Edward Fowler A.K.A. Ray Carlyle

This book is a manual for doing a Q&A act. It differs from the usual description of that type of Q&A act. In that, it shows you how to start your act with doing the questions. Yes, much as Dunninger did on radio.
However, don't be fooled! I have changed much of the methods that Bob wrote back in the 40's 50's and 60's.
It's funny I had read this work many years ago and passed it off as old style, nothing you could do today! But I was wrong! I didn't see the real meaning.
Just to give you an idea, Bob wanted you to have your assistant standing in the lobby with a pile of his 'clip' boards under her arm. Then other papers were to be handed out inside so they could write the question again. As though the members of the audience had forgotten all about those 'boards' in the lobby! Not today they wouldn't, and you can put a money bet on that!
But let's suppose that the nice young lady had only papers in her hand and not boards! And suppose the boards that were there were a part of a small table and could not be removed! And also that the boards had those five-part papers that Bob used and that the papers that the nice young lady was handing out were the same as those on the boards. Also, let's say that she handed out these papers and pencils and only offered the tables as a place to write as they had nothing to write on. So some used the boards while others didn't. Then as most of the people are in the banquet hall, she folded the tables and takes them backstage paying no attention to the boards on them. Just cleaning up the lobby as it were.
Now we have a totally new look at an old idea!
This is just one of several changes as I went thru the book, page by page brings it into today.
